Today’s template is all about how to leave a business voicemail.  The chart below shows what a business voicemail might contain, along with a script for you to follow along with.

Purpose

Example Sentence

State your name and company

"Hi, this is [Your Name] calling from [Your Company]."

Mention the purpose of the call

"I'm reaching out to discuss [Topic/Reason for Calling]."

Provide a brief detail or question

"I have some ideas regarding [Specific Detail/Question] and I’d like to get your thoughts."

Express desire to follow up

"I’d love to schedule a time for us to chat more about this."

Suggest a callback time

"Please give me a call back at your convenience, I’m available [Provide two time slots]."

Leave your contact information

"You can reach me at [Your Phone Number] or [Your Email]."

Close with a courteous sign-off

"Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.
